The twelve filters of the J-PLUS survey have been integrated into T80Cam, the scientific camera which is installed in the JAST80 telescope of the Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre.

The integration of J-PLUS filters is a new milestone of the project since, for the first time, all the elements required to conduct the J-PLUS survey are already deployed in the Observatory.

The T80Cam scientific instrument was first carried to the Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre on December 2014. Then, it was assembled and subjected to new “in situ” tests, being finally installed into the JAST80 telescope on January 27, 2015.

The integration of the twelve J-PLUS filters in T80Cam is a crucial task to conduct an unprecedented three-dimensional survey of the nearby Universe, using broad, intermediate and narrow filters. Specifically, tens of millions of galaxies and stars of the Milky Way halo are going to be observed and characterized, with a wide range of Astrophysical applications.
