The arrival of the telescope to the Pico del Buitre involves starting the night activities of the Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre (CEFCA's observatory). This is one of the most important milestones of the project.

The Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre's (OAJ) JAST80 (Javalambre Auxiliary Survey Telescope) telescope, constructed by AMOS, set out its trip to Pico del Buitre after the last factory tests. The telescope will arrive at OAJ on May 14th and the mechanical assembly will be finished by the end of the week.

During the next days, technicians of the German company responsible for the telescope's mechanical structure manufacture, ASTELCO Systems GmbH, assisted by CEFCA's staff members, will carry out the mechanical structure assembly. Soon after, the optical elements (field corrector, primary and secondary mirrors) will arrive at OAJ. They will be integrated in the course of May and finally proceed with the opto-mechanical alingment and the telescope's tune-up.

The JAST's arrival means the beginning of the OAJ's night activities. The technical First Light Camera (FLCam) is already at CEFCA to be installed at the telescope and carry out the tune-up tasks. The camera will be used to make the first verification tests until T80Cam, currently under construction, is finished.
